Harriet Anena is a poet and short story writer from Uganda. She is the 2018 co-winner of the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa for her debut poetry collection, A Nation in Labour.
Anena’s short stories have been nominated for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize (2018) and Short Story Day Africa Prize (2017, 2018).
Her latest works appear in New Daughters of Africa, 2019, an anthology of writing by women of African descent, edited by Margaret Busby.
