Hilda Twongyeirwe

Twongyeirwe Hilda hails from Kacerere near Lake Bunyonyi. She is the Executive Director of FEMRITE -Uganda Women Writers Association. She is a recipient of a National Medal for her contribution to Uganda’s Literary Heritage and Women Emancipation, a Recognition Award from Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and the Art and Culture Women for Women Awards 2018. She is a member of The Graca Machel Trust Women in Media Network, Action for Development (ACFODE) and FEMRITE. She has served on different boards in the Literary and Book sector; The Reading Association of Uganda, The National Book Trust of Uganda and The African Asian Writers Union. She has published creative and non-fiction works in different anthologies. She has also initiated literary projects and edited or co-edited a number of the resulting publications. She has researched and compiled memoirs under FEMRITE and Action for Development. She has also authored and co-authored literary articles published in different spaces. She holds a B.A. Arts Degree and an MA in Public Administration and Management both from Makerere University, Kampala.
