Ijangolet S Ogwang

Ijangolet S Ogwang was born in Kenya to Uganda parents and raised in South Africa in a small town in the Eastern Cape called Butterworth.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Science Finance degree from the University of Cape Town. Upon graduating she joined the Unilever Future Leaders program in their Finance department. With the desire to work more directly with businesses for impact she later joined Edge Growth a business that provides investment and acceleration programs for SME’s. She currently works, as a Post Investment Analyst that works closely with these SME’s to foster growth through targeted projects. Ijangolet Co-founded Good-Hair an on-demand mobile salon with two friends. The business aims to bring comfort, convenience and care to the African woman’s hair market.

Ijangolet is a passionate observer of the world and the ways in which it functions. It is these observations that have been the basis upon which she found her passion to interpret the world in stories and characters. An Image in A Mirror is her debut novel. She is a voracious reader, consuming a reading list as diverse as her interests.

In her capacity as a young African leader she was selected as a Global Shaper in 2015 as part of the World Economic Forum initiative in Durban. She was also selected as an Africa Venture Fellow, which is an initiative that aims to capacitate the African leaders of the future.

She is most passionate about literacy, education, the empowerment of women and the continent.
