Jalada and Transition Launch the Fear Issue

When: Thursday 4 pm
Where: The Square Place, Level 2 Hall

Writers are familiar with the concept of fear.

The Jalada Africa collective in collaboration with Transition Magazine present the theme in their joint journal issue, FEAR.

The book “represents this spirit through an offering of stories, essays and poems that tackle the various shapes that fear and fearlessness take in our shared humanity.”

This is Jalada’s sixth digital anthology but first print anthology.

In June 2013, Jalada Africa was formed as a result of conversations between 22 young African writers drawn from Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Nigeria. They were in Nairobi, Kenya for in a Creative Writing Workshop. Six months later, their first digital anthology Sketch of a Bald Woman and Other Stories, was published.

They continue to embrace and shape young writers from across the continent.

Come along to hear more about their journey.
