Sophie Bamwoyeraki

Sophie Nuwagira Bamwoyeraki writes short stories and poems some of which feature in various anthologies in Uganda, USA and South Africa. She edits both fiction and non-fiction. She is the founder of Asante Resource Centre and Asante House. She has attended writing, editing, publishing and alternative publishing workshops run by leading personalities like: Ellah Allfrey, Lemn Sissay, Charlotte Ormoston, and a Master Class in poetry and fiction by Nii Kwei Parkes invited by African Writers Trust.

Sophie who co-authored “Poetic Duet” with Jane P’Bitek Langoya, also writes educational resources (English and Literature) for primary and secondary schools. She is currently compiling a new poetry anthology. Her dream to publish new writers is becoming a reality.

As head of secondary at The North Green School, Sophie is working on her research for a Ph.D.
